

I experienced a single hard crash during my playthrough – though a myriad number of background processes may be to blame. A few reports of hitches appear to hamper the console version when busy but aren’t game-breaking. Nary a hitch in framerate impacted my own personal time playing through both the campaign and multiplayer on PC. The dim, bloody hallways make for intense crawls while wandering across the campaign’s 9 missions. The attention to detail remains intact for the Enhanced Edition. The game’s modeling, texture work, and particle effects paint a beautiful picture during Deathwing’s chaotic bouts of combat. Gothic stone halls, wandering bots housed inside human skulls, and human scripture for the Emperor’s glory layer the claustrophobic hallways of the Space Hulk Oletheros.


Dark, moody, labyrinthian level design complements the unique setting inherent to the 40k franchise. There’s absolutely no question that Space Hulk: Deathwing’s a pretty game. The changes are fairly significant – but problems remained baked into the title holding Space Hulk: Deathwing from greatness. A deep customization system with all-new armor, weapon, and perk tweaks comes alongside a new multiplayer class, new special missions, and a souped-up progression tree. Quality of life improvements, technical bug fixes, and a steadier gameplay experience aren’t all that Streum On implemented. The Enhanced Edition fixes many of the myriad issues borked with the initial release of Deathwing. An active community of gamers kept the title alive long enough for Streum On Studios to announce a new version of the title in late March 2018.Įnter Space Hulk: Deathwing Enhanced Edition, a love letter for the Space Hulk: Deathwing fanbase. Despite these issues, the title retained a cult appeal to die-hard Warhammer 40k fans. Though the models, environments, and moment-to-moment gameplay Streum On Studios presented were great, a litany of technical glitches, inconsistent framerate issues, and lack of player progression dragged the overall product down. The original version of Deathwing released back in December 2016 to rather lukewarm reviews. A brief refresher on the troubled road traveled by Space Hulk: Deathwing Space Hulk: Deathwing returns to the PS4 and PC with an Enhanced Edition that seeks to iron out some of the troubles plaguing the original release.
